Both the US and Britain on Saturday issued statements to the media categorically denying that they support Dr Tahirul Qadri or any other political party in Pakistan, Radio Pakistan reported.
US deputy chief of mission in Pakistan Richard Hoagland and the British High Commisioner both stated that their respective countries do not support any political party or individual.
US unhappy with CSF mechanism
Hoagland said that the US is dissatisfied with the workings of the Coalition Support Fund (CSF) and will work to improve it.
Pakistan received a $688 million CSF tranche on December 28 as reimbursement for the expenses of supporting over 150,000 coalition forces deployed on Pakistan-Afghan border.
The deputy chief reiterated that any decision regarding a military operation in North Waziristan will be taken by Pakistan.
